The advantage of this program over a virus checker is that virus chckers are only as good as their latest update whereas Autostart and Process Viewer stops absolutely everything and leaves the power in your hands. However, you'll need to know a little bit about how to recognise safe and harmful processes for this to be effective.

A powerful solution to blocking Trojans and other malware but not for the inexperienced.

Changes

  • To view what the various processes are, check the developer website

Autostart and Process Viewer gives you a control over applications which start with Windows, and shows which processes are running on your computer.

But the most important thing is that this program helps you find out which processes and autostart entries are new. You can "accept" a process or a program starting with windows, and if a new ("unaccepted") item appears - the program tells you about it.
